Love To Love You Baby
Happy February All!
We did it! We made it through the long month of January without too much of a hiccup. To be honest I’m a fan of January…I like the reset after Christmas, however I’m definitely in the mood for looking forward towards the Spring.
I sometimes get a bit agitated with February as it’s neither here nor there…you’re about to unpack your little dresses and then bang we end up with major snowfall. And we get bombarded with Valentines malarkey! Now that’s not to say that I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day and indeed we will be sharing some nice pieces here, but I don’t need to consider what kind of tea to serve to make my other half fall in love with me all over again! I’d rather consider Valentine’s as a day of showing love to those you care about the most, so a little text to your friends & family, an extra hug for your kids and a nice dinner with your partner and most importantly a purposeful pause for yourself! Yes this month we are sticking to our general themes of wellness and wellbeing but looking at how we can romance ourselves a little bit more!
It’s safe to say that the effects of the last two years are really starting to play out as even though it’s only the start of the year many of us feel overwhelmed and exhausted! Anxiety is at an all time high and the question of “what the hell just happened” hangs over us whilst we burst into tears for what can seem like no reason. Yes post pandemic fatigue is real. This is why it’s essential that you treat yourself with kindness and show yourself the same love you would show to others. Healing takes time and so just a couple of small gestures a day can make a huge impact over the months ahead.
And I’m not talking being lavish, I’m talking about sitting down for 10 minutes with a cup of tea and just being quiet. Thinking about things YOU want to think of. Not about work, your kids, your partner, the dog, the cat….you. Daydream if you can. I know life is very pressured for many of us at the minute, but if you can just allow yourself the luxury of dreaming about the things you want….it will help you feel more invested in yourself. Visualisation is such an important tool for moving your life in the direction you want to go in and the best part, it’s free! In an exclusive piece for The Capsule, intentional living expert and author Sarah Stone details the simple steps you can take to achieve your goals this year however big or small and how visualisation plays a key role in that. So your daily 10 minute cuppa could actually be the first steps towards the life you want to lead.
Alongside the purposeful pause we’re also looking at romanticising yourself with pretty lingerie. Sure it might be a nice surprise for your partner but decorating your body in sensual pieces should be just as much for yourself! Feeling sexy is about you and how you see yourself! Don’t wait for someone to buy you daring lingerie, splash out on yourself and wear it whenever the hell you want! Just knowing that you’re wearing something that you feel amazing in that no one else can see is a sure way to make you feel beautiful & powerful. Remember these moments are about loving who you are and owning what you have. Again this is a relatively small step but it can have a huge impact on your confidence. And the stronger & more confident you feel the happier you are and that happiness radiates across all areas of your life, giving you the energy to give back to others without resentment or feeling burnt out.
It really does start with you, so show yourself some love this month and watch your life blossom into the spring.
I hope you all have a beautiful month.
Much Love
