Walk On The Wild Side This Spring

It’s the print that never really goes away. A staple for adding a bit of drama to any outfit, animal print was big in 2019 and will be even bigger this year. From headbands to cushions; Primark to Victoria Beckham, this versatile print has featured in every collection, in every form!

However as much as leopard print can conjure visions of glamour and decadence it can also be synonymous with 1980’s pub landladies…..(not that there’s anything wrong with that, but best to try and keep it fresh and forward for the new century). So how do we avoid channeling Bet Lynch and keep on the stylish side of this tricky trend? The key is to chose your piece carefully and dress around it. For the other pieces you are combining it with chose tones from the animal print you are wearing i.e- tans, creams and black for Cheetah, Leopard and Giraffe or silver, grey and white for Snake skin and wear them in block colours to allow the print to be the hero. Animal print is a statement so try not to divert attention away from it- let it roar! On that note, the print should always be worn on your ‘best half’, for example a pear shaped figure should opt for a plain skirt or trouser and wear the print on the top half, whereas a full busted figure should do the reverse. If you are slightly weary of the print altogether why not use it in your shoes or handbag? This adds a pop of the trend to your look without committing to it entirely!! As there’s so much variety available at the minute you’ve plenty to chose from. We’ve picked our favourite styles available online and instore now.
